Michael Maniacci, Psy.D. is a clinical psychologist with practices in Chicago and Naperville, Illinois. He is a consultant to numerous organizations and has taught throughout the U.S. and Canada. He is the author of over 50 publications including 5 textbooks that have been translated into 4 languages. Dr. Maniacci has worked closely with Dr. Harold Mosak since 1984 and has extensive training in Adlerian psychology. In addition, he has had additional training in neuropsychology, marriage and family therapy, and psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

A workshop open to the general public, psychologists, counselors, social workers, teachers, parents, and anyone interested in learning more about the concepts of Adler’s Individual Psychology that facilitate understanding personality and treatment of personality disorders.

About the Local Society: The Western Pennsylvania Society for Adlerian Psychology promotes the educational theories and practical techniques of Dr. Alfred Adler, a leading theorist in the field of mental health and the founder of child guidance centers. His theory of Individual Psychology promotes a holistic approach for each individual and is based on a model of growth. His teachings are applicable to parent/child relationships and counseling for individuals and families. We are pleased to host this NASAP workshop.

Understanding & Treating Personality Disorders: an Adlerian Approach is a 5 hour didactic workshop that, in the morning session, examines the current classifications, concepts and development of personality, personality styles and disorders. In the afternoon session, we will understand what are normal variations of disorders and how to identify the best options for treatment, including the role of parent education in treatment.
